Uncertainty of Measurement (UoM) applied to food analysis
The report was produced under project KT2 of the 2006-2009 Valid Analytical Measurement programme, the precursor to the Chemical and Biological Metrology Programme.
Providing an Uncertainty of Measurement (UoM) follows the requirements of BS EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005. The food analysis example of the assessment of UoM described in this report is based on several years of quality control data from the AOAC method for measuring Total Dietary Fibre (TDF) in food materials. The steps described are based on the UKAS accredited Campden BRI in-house approach for uncertainty assessment for chemistry analytical methods to ensure valid, systematic and uniform approach to the assessment.
