LGC is the UK’s designated National Measurement Institute for chemical and bioanalytical measurement, and through this role improves the quality and international acceptance of measurements performed within the UK. In a recently published research spotlight article in Bioanalysis, we highlight how LGC is supporting the clinical sector by ensuring sound measurement practice that underpins clinical efficacy, quality assurance and patient safety.

Highlights include the development of new reference materials for compliance with the In Vitro Diagnostic Medical Devices Directive, hydrogen deuterium exchange methods for obtaining high resolution information on protein structure and new imagining techniques to improve pancreatic islet transplants.
